Rodeo Festival

There's a paradise in the Philippines which is not yet sincerely explored. This is a place whose beauty is concealed for centuries and a place where paradise like sceneries abode. Masbate being an island at the center of Philippine archipelago is blessed with coastal lines covered with white sand. The sand in this place shines every summer and its blue and green seawater sparkles as well. Masbate has many beaches ideal for a resort establishment, but up to this time many of the beaches in this place are left untouched by investors. Not just that Masbateños( people in Masbate) have their own dance culture - Lapay Bantigue. Lapay Bantigue is an original ritual dance of Masbateños and this is danced gracefully by Lapay performers with matching colorful costumes every Lapay Bantigue festival. Masbate is also “Cattle Country of the Philippines” because of the wide and vast ranches in the provinces and every year Rodeo festival is celebrated in this land. The most precious treasure of Masbate is the land itself. A nature lover will get stunned with the rolling green mountains and hills in this place but for sure his eyes will dilate if he discovered that the green view he’s beholding holds gold more than enough to sustain the needs of all his future families generation. Masbate is the place full of treasures yet the people here are among the poorest around the Philippines. Worse these treasures are slowly diminishing.

Open-pit mining in Brgy. Syndicate, Aroroy, Masbate

Most people in this place live through farming, fishing and mining. In one municipality of Masbate called Aroroy, mining is the most ideal work to get into, both for the rich and for the poor. The rich has enough capital means to buy the equipment and utilities needed to start a mining business. Mining business is very feasible in Aroroy because almost every meter of land that you step onto has underlying nuggets of gold. Because of Aroroy’s   much gold, it is regarded as the "Golden Town."A gram of gold is worth more than a thousand. How light is one gram? Lighter than the bullet of a toy gun, but that single gram is worth more than a thousand! No wonder why in almost every barangay you will be able to find a mining operation operated by people from upper class and also from poor class who hope for even a single gram from their small scale mining. Small scale mining does not need much equipment to extract gold all it needs are miners who are willing enough to stretch their muscles and bones in the manual mining process. More and more people are attracted into mining because there are people who started from rags but after mining nuggets of gold turned into somebody with a full pocket.

Small scale mining in Brgy. Panique, Aroroy, Masbate  involves child labor

However the profit gained by small scale miners is nothing compared to the profit of big mining industries owned by foreigners. What Filipinos specifically Masbateños earned from their land are just centavos compared to the thousands gained by foreign investors. The major corporation responsible for the biggest mining operation in Masbate, specifically in the municipality of Aroroy is the Filminera Resources Corporation in partnership with Masbate Gold Project. There still many corporations behind the ever spreading mining operation in Aroroy. The corporations provide the needed equipment in mining and these include Galeo Equipment and Mining Company Inc, Phil. Gold Processing & Refining Corp, and Orica Mining Services. With the help of many companies tons of gold are successfully extracted. More gold is equivalent to much money and much money equates to wealth.

A gold nugget

When large corporations mine, the whole landscape of a certain mountain or hill will change. Before the mountains or hills are touched they look green and when you view it from a distance you will enjoy not just its rich beauty but also cherish your moment and feel blessed for having a very refreshing air to breath. But the breathtaking view and worth breathing air coming from the mountains and hills of Masbate are now swiftly diminishing in numbers with the use of heavy equipments for mining such as bulldozer, backhoe, road grader, excavator and rock truck. These heavy equipment make the shaving of the mountains and hills as easy as snapping our fingers. Huge equipment make mining operation faster and its scope wider and of course land's degradation faster.

Source:https://www.mico.com/markets/mining-equipment
A mining equipment

Mining is not composed of one or two simple processes. Before a company can reap not just gold but tones of gold it has to plan and execute a very smart strategy to gain much from their mining operation. First of all the company must find a spot, usually mountains and hills, where they can get some rock sample, to test if the rocks in that spot has a high grade potential. High grade rocks can be found in lander with high mineral content. When they already verified that that spot has a high grade they will negotiate with the local officials( if the land is government owned), talk with private people and necessarily talk with national government for the President's approval for their big mining operation just like what Filminera corporation did. Huge mining activity, specifically open-pit mining (mining style of Filminera), requires cutting down trees and observing environmental standards is a must, that's why a company who wants to reap gold in a large hectare of land must and always secure an environmental certificate , "...a  form of environmental regulation and development where a company can voluntarily choose to comply with predefined processes or objectives set forth by the certification service...."(Nebel, Quevedo, Jacobsen and Helles, 2005). After securing an environmental certificate and after employing local people as their workforces the mining operation will be pushed, they will be set to work with one goal -to extract gold.

There's nothing wrong with their open-pit mining at our first glance because the mining corporation had secured environmental protection certificate and environmental rehabilitation are guaranteed so, it sounds like Aroronians or let's just say Masbateños have nothing to worry. Besides the common people are benefited ever since the Filminera operated in Masbate, particularly in Aroroy. Filminera's mining operation in Aroroy made Masbate grab the record of being the largest mining operation in the whole Philippines, as what Masbate Gold Project Calendar reported (2014). This mining operation also employed over 1800 locals. Usually the local people work as their security guards, toll gate watcher, traffic enforcers and drivers. Lots of people are able to work and able to feed their family because of the job opportunities that Filminera Corporation have been showering over the locals.

Source:http://www.unitedworld-usa.com/usatoday/philippines/21mining.htm

The economy also boosts because of mining. This is very evident in Aroroy, Masbate's "Golden Town." Aroroy is a first class municipality having an annual income exceeding 55 million and such income can be attributed to the presence of Filminera. However, the income that's received by the municipality is actually just a tax remittance of foreign investors that operate Filminera. What is a tax? What is the ratio of an income tax to the actual income? There's a wide gap isn't it? Filipinos own the land, Filipinos labor for the success of extracting golds, but the only share of the local government is just a so-called tax. The local government is not the only government branch that gets something from it. The national government receives tax from this huge mining operation. The Masbate Gold Project Calendar boasted that the mining operation in Aroroy "....has generated over P2 billion various tax contributions and remittances..."

The Philippine economy really benefits from the mining operations around the country especially from the provinces of Masbate. Undeniably the foreign investors or probably, foreign government benefits the most from it. Gold are harvested here in the Philippines and then delivered to the other country for conversion into jewelries or simply gold deposit. The foreign elites gain the most from the mining operation here in the Philippines. Just imagine the ratio of money that they get from mining operation, ours is just a cute bite (tax), theirs is the rest of the one big whole. We are given centavos they have the thousand bills...This is a harsh reality that is concealed. The gains that must have been gained by our country for the welfare of Filipinos are legally withdrawn by aliens.

As foreign investors' bellies get bloated and as the gold banks are being filled with gold bars the land of gold gets lighter due to massive gold extracted and exported. After the mining operation of Filminera they will leave the land but they have so-called rehabilitating strategies. After the mining operation many people are left without jobs. Some will luckily find a new job such as small scale mining, farming, driving motorcycle or go fishing that's enough to feed the hungry family. Life is simple and hard in Aroroy. This is an ironic fact, Aroronians live in a place rich in gold but poverty is widespread.

How's the environment after mining operation? The green landscape turned into gray or brown view. The mountains and hills those are full of trees before, but currently look like a bald Banaue terraces now. The fertile soil is scraped by the heavy equipments during mining operations. The fresh air that you can breathe before shifted into a rusty smell no more overwhelming refreshing air. If you are a nature lover the mine site is literally breathtaking, due to disgust. The environmental landscape totally changed. Like a cancer patient the head is shaved. As a bald mountain or hill we can compare a certain mountain or hill landscape to a severely ill person. The disease of bald mountains and hills is also cancer.

The mountains and hills in Masbate suffer cancer because the cancerous cell (mining operation) spreads from one part to another. Every time that Filminera corporation find a spot with a good sample of land or it found a spot with a high grade potential it won’t stop negotiating (or maybe forcing) any person until they get what they desire –high grade land. As long as there are mountains and hills that are prolific they won't stop unless those golden bodies of lander are unshaved and the gold harvested completely. The gold that are supposed to be harvested or more favorably preserved have been harvested by foreigners.

When one aspires for gold uprooting trees is necessary and transferring, if not throwing away, the fertile top soil is needed. The green view of mountains and hills is lost. But which is more beautiful? The green landscape in the morning and dark view at night or the grayish blue or brown landscape in the morning and a city like mountain (due to lights put up by mining company for their night mining operation)?

Most of the mountains and hills of the golden town will sooner or later look very different. If the officials and landowners in this place are worldly enough they will be willing to sell every piece of elevated land. These elevated lands are sculptured by huge and heavy equipment so that gold will be withdrawn and at the end they will look like a staircase to heaven, but this type of staircase will never ever reach the door of heaven for the humans who are supposed to take good care of the natural environment just exploited it for the good of the few. Foreigners get merry for the every gold that they extract from the land of Aroroy, more gold is always equivalent to much money and much money is equal to wealth and when you have wealth you have power. Foreign companies are lucky enough to find a country as poor as Philippines who doesn't really care if it's natural environment is depleted as long as the government in this country receives a centavo for every thousand that foreign companies earn. What can we do? They have the capital to put up their big mining business; we only have the work force.

When the muscles and bones of Filipinos who work for the foreign mining company are exhausted and when the foreign corporations have successfully shaved the mountains and hills and of course when their countries have the most gold deposit they will leave our country. When mining operation stops a lot of people will have no work if they are not determined enough to find new one or the government is blind enough that its people need job. The first class municipality of Aroroy which is dependent to the tax of Filminera will have its annual income decline (if the future leader of this municipality will not do any move to maintain its high status, but hopefully he will). Gold is non renewable so when it’s lost the golden town will be "The Shaved Town." Gold is its glory, so if there's no more gold the foreign will just leave but make sure that they had spitted on the land of Aroroy and say "Damn the people in Aroroy are idiots they just sat on their land of golds and waited for aliens to get 'em!" They got richer and we are left grabbed of our taken for granted riches. (If you want to deeply understand why is the open pit mining operation in Masbate unstoppable kindly visit http://www.bicolstandard.com/2014/03/aroroy-masbate-gold-12-trillion-pesos-b2gold.html)

Again, going back to Filminera Corporation they said that they have environmental certificate. Good thing right? So what did they do to the mountains of hills where their operation had stopped?

"Ga dumping ina sinda san duta na maayo tanuman kag an mga pinisi san mga tawo sa kada barangay gina butang didto sa mga bukid na wara na ginaminahan. Tapos gatanum san panibag-o kaya an mga kalbo na bukid may tapal na na bag-o na tanum." (They dump soil which is good for planting and the made ropes (made of the husk of coconut) of the people in every barangay are brought to the mined site. Then they will plant new trees and these will later cover the bald mountains -an interviewee.)

It is good to hear that Filminera Corporation do something in order to redress the mountain that they degraded unlike in the other country or maybe places here in the Philippines that are just abandoned by the mining companies after they had harvested what they can harvest. Actually, Filminera do many good things to the people in this country. For example, their people visit barangays and release new bags, notebooks and other schools supplies to inspire school children. It is a fact that Aroroy is a first class municipality but its magnificence is only evident in the proper town but when you around in different barangays poverty is manifested by the people’s lives and such sight will melt your heart. According to the Masbate Gold Project calendar of 2014, Filminera also donates money "...over P100 million in the development programs within the host communities through Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), and has spent in excess of P50 million in Corporate Social Responsibility projects for host stakeholders beyond the host barangays...."

In every barangay in Aroroy you will be able to find spinning wheels manipulated by the locals. These people make ropes out of coconut husks because these are used in the rehabilitation of bald mountains (maybe as fertilizers) and the people are paid P2 for every meter of rope that they had created. In fairness this is a good thing, at least this high earning corporation help the locals earn some coins.

Making rope out of coconut husks

The coins that the people earn from making ropes is a big help in the process of the so-called "rehabilitation of degrade golden lander." But is rehabilitating a fecund mountain easy? Certainly it isn’t. No technology was ever invented to rebuild a forest. Rebuilding a forest will take at least a century. Our eyes already lost its vision and our breaths are already taken by our Creator before a forest can be totally brought back to its original grace .The rehabilitation plan of Filminera Resources Corporation is just like a wig (but at least shows an effort). They covered the bald mountains and hills with dumps and planted some seedlings and all sorts of plants that they think can conceal the cancerous look of the mountains and hills. The fact that they had degraded the lands of Aroroy is fact and that's irreversible.

Site watchers

The town proper of Aroroy is a first class municipality but it just stops there, majority of its barangay are still waiting to be lifted from rags to the rich status and aura of the proper. When Filminera’s business is over in Aroroy or any part of Masbate, the town of Aroroy might not be as good smelling as before. Without the presence of the big mining corporation this town will find it hard to maintain its first class status. But who knows that maybe this proposition is false. Who knows that this town will be able to maintain its prosperous state? Who knows... Maybe a leader will be born and he will be able manage the whole town in the very best way that this town had never ever experienced.

In the end there are only three things that the people of Aroroy might realize. First the green and natural view of fecund mountains and hills is the most satiating treasure of the place. The natural grace of mountain not just provided a beautiful landscape to behold, but it also provided the people with fresh air that allow them to live every moment of their lives in the golden town. The second realization will hopefully be the clear vision of the ironic life in the province of Masbate. Masbate provinces have  rich lander and everything (Masbate is actually the country's marine sanctuary), yet majority of the people are living in poverty. Where have the treasures endowed by God gone? Third the people will also realize that it's impractical and idealistic to say that the gold must have been left buried and untouched. Money is needed in order to survive in this world full of price tags. It's true that it is impractical and idealistic to leave the gold untouched the mountains green and full, but it is more desirable and necessary. These three future realizations will only occur if the people in Aroroy know how to appreciate the natural and rich environment given by God, but as of now most of them are blind and numb...

Harsh Kisses for Humanity

Source:http://kennuncorked.com/sustainable_history.html

In 1984, the scientists who studied the changes in ozone levels thought that their used instruments committed some error, because that year their instruments indicated that the ozone level above Antarctic dropped 35% from the 1960’s average level of ozone (Whelch, 2014).Such discovery stunned the world because that indicated that ozone layer is rapidly depleting -a dire phenomenon to behold. Due to that, vast institutions around the globe tried to combat the promising widening of the discovered ozone hole or global cavity. Though the ozone hole resides above Antarctic, global mobilization became necessary for global cavity undeniably affects everything on Earth. Fortunately, the scientists found the depleting ozone at the right time. In fact, just this year (2014), an article of British Antarctic  Survey Ozone Bulletin reported that, the ozone hole is now gradually recovering. Despite that fact, people around the globe ought to be informed on why ozone hole is undesirable in the very first place.

Cavity for humans is a dental disease that is often not taken seriously when it just started, maybe because it is unnoticed. Cavity starts when a person does not properly take good care of his teeth. When the cavity starts it may be unnoticed, worse noticed but did not  pound an alarm that that cavity may lead to total deterioration of oral health and overall well-being of a person. Like a cavity the hole on our ozone emerged because people are not hygienic. Dental cavity and ozone hole are actually similar. If candy is the famous food that is associated with dental cavity, chlorofluorocarbon(CFC) is for the hole of ozone layer. Candies give pleasure to consumers taste buds, CFC gives satisfaction and sense of efficiency to the people who adhere in using products that contains it. Wilson(1989) stated that freezer, air conditioner, spray foam sealant, aerosol propellant and foam cushions are just the few examples of products that contain CFC. Like a cavity, ozone hole needs attention and proper treatment as early as possible. If humanity will fail in rescuing the ozone hole or global cavity it will widen and when it widens it simply indicates that treating it will be hopeless for it’s too late.

Famous terms that emerge whenever the talks revolve around ozone hole include the term UV radiation. When people hear this term they think about something grim. Usually, this term is associated with dire phenomena presented by British Columbia (2014): ecological disturbance, agricultural problems, product degradation, animal diseases and human diseases. Homo sapiens, judged as the species who scattered seeds (mainly CFCs) that borne ozone depletion will naturally be responsible to reap what they had planted. When Earth’s shield against harmful UVs is badly destructed, global cavity will serve as a threat to human health because increase of UV radiation in Earth’s surface will absolutely lead to various diseases including basal and squamous cell carcinomas , malignant melanoma, cortical cataract and blindness (United States Environmental Protection Agency, 2014).

However, before trying to know more about the diseases that humans can adversely receive from harsh kisses of the Sun, which refer to UV rays, it is important to know that ozone hole does not refer to a literal hole. According to Newman( 2009) the said term simply refers to the thinning or decreasing ozone(O3 levels, or simply indicates that no sensible hole in ozone layer exists.  In his article, he noted NASA’s  statement that indicates that an ozone column is regarded as thin, when its Dobson Unit (DU is the unit for ozone level) is below 220.
 Source:http://imbbpullzone.laedukreationpvt.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Harmful-effects-of-UV-rays.jpg

When DU goes below 220, UV rays penetration will become more intense and frequent, because the layer that shields Earth from it is thinning. According to American Cancer Society (ACS 2013), UV radiation has three types: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVA causes skin cells’ aging and can disrupt DNA. UVB straightly wrecks DNA, and often catalyzes sunburn. On the other hand, ACS also stated that UVC cannot penetrate the Earth’s atmosphere, so it cannot be blamed yet for occurrence of any sort of skin cancer. Therefore, only the Sun’s two types of kisses, UVA and UVB, will spontaneously shower the Earth and everything in it, as long as the ozone hole exists and gives way to the harsh UVs.

Intrinsically, Mother Earth doesn’t have such feature, and most likely didn’t aspire to have a UV kiss from the Sun. Earth has been contented carrying her babies, the humans, even though she receives nothing in return but degradation, as if she doesn’t have any worth at all. However, humanity itself suffers from the harsh kisses of the Sun, whether individuals in it like it or not. Human-made lips of Mother Earth serves as a very permeable mouth always open to intense and frequent invasion of UVs. Definitely, no mother will ever want to have someone kiss her harshly, especially if these adversely affect her siblings. However, Mother Earth basically, has been feeling helplessly degraded for centuries by the kisses of the Sun. If her cavity cannot be filled, and worse widened, the cavity will furthermore rot that will eventually affect everything. For instance, when a tooth of a person has a cavity and that cavity is left untreated, that cavity will get deeper into the roots of the tooth, it will rot. When a tooth rots the person will experience a terrible toothache and he will not be feeling well and at the end of the day his performance will be adversely affected. Just like the cavity of our Earth, once left untreated decay of existing living things will follow. The world doesn’t have to feel surprised when the list of UV related diseases will be miles long and prevalent in the future. Nowadays, the growing awareness about the growth of people who suffer diseases associated with the ozone depletion serves as an indication that the harassment that the world receives from the Sun must be halted.
Source:http://www.medicinenet.com/image-collection/basal_cell_carcinoma_nose_picture/picture.htm

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the foremost must-talked disease caused by UV raysfor it is the “frequently occurring form of all cancers” as stated by Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF 2014).SCF described BCC as “abnormal, uncontrolled growths or lesions that arise in the skin’s  basal cells….”
Basal cell is a cell forming in the bottom part of the epidermis –the outer layer of skin. According to SCF the usual victims of this cancer are those people who have light skins, have blonde or red hairs, and have gray, green, or blue irises. This happening can be explained by the low count of melanin in white people, they added. Melanin is abundant in people who have dark complexions, dark hairs, and brown or black irises. This component protects the skin from the Sun, that’s why people who have naturally darker features are less prone to Sun’s damages compared to those who have biologically lighter features.

SCF furthermore added that there are 2.8 million people in US (only) who acquire BCC per year, and this just clearly indicates that this case occurs intensively frequent and  older strata of the society, especially men are more prone to BCC. Their explaination is that that is due to the fact that, men are more involved in jobs that are exposed in the Sun’s UV rays. SFC also characterized BCC as “open sores, pink growths, shiny bumps, or scars.” These occur on parts of the body that are often exposed to sunlight, e.g. ears, face, neck, shoulders, etc, as asserted by SFC. Once a person had this on a certain part of his body, they proclaimed that there’s a possibility that the other parts of his body will be disfigured because of it. However if BCC presence is discovered and treated early, the spread will be suppressed, a fact presented by the foundation that gives hope for health conscious people.

BCC is life changing, for the worse.Judy Fraser(2009), a television weather forecaster for WCAI-TV, expressed how BCC transformed her into a fearful person from a carefree one. Since she got this skin cancer going outside became a frightful experience. Her hobbies before like biking, gardening and playing golf are suppressed. The only things that make her a bit confident to go outside are the usage of sunscreen with SPF 30 or 45 plus a hat –a garment that she thinks that doesn’t suit her. She have no choice.
Source:http://lungcancer.about.com/od/typesoflungcancer/a/Squamous-Cell-Carcinoma-Of-The-Lungs.htm

Secondly, another skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma or SCC also prevails, as reported by American Academy of Dermatology (AAD 2014). SCC is defined by Skin Cancer Foundation as “uncontrolled growth of abnormal cell arising in the squamous cells….” Squamous cell is a cell that comprises most of skin’s epidermis. AAD showed that the usual people who acquire this disease are those who have light complexions, blonde or red hairs, and gray, green or blue irises. Again people who have the said features are disadvantaged because of the low level of melanin, a component that essentially protects the skin, hair and eyes against UVs.

There are about 700 000 people who are being hit by SCC in US annually, as proclaimed by AAD and SCF. Just like in the case of BCC, patients who are diagnosed having SCC, are majorly older men usually in their 70s. Again, the difference in working condition of men is associated with their higher risk compared to women. SCF also stated that SCC’s visible indications are “scaly red patches, open sores, …warts; may crust or bleed.”  They furthermore warned that this may occur in every part of the body including the mucous membranes and genitals, but most commonly emerge in areas that are often exposed to Sun’s UV rays. SFC asserted that this skin cancer can be inherited and those people who basically have BCC will possibly have SCC in their list of body problems.

The third point is the case of malignant melanoma. Malignant melanoma is another skin cancer. According to PDR health Physicians’ Desk Reference(2014)this occurs when the melanocytes(cells that contain melanin) becomes disordered. In this case the supposed to be protector of the skin turned into its enemy and this undesirable transformation of melanocytes pinpoints UV radiation as catalyst. As usual, the favorite victims of this cancer presented by PDR are those who don’t have dark features.

PDR stated that malignant melanoma is the 6th most ordinary cancer occurrence in the US. PDR health Physicians’ Desk Reference reported that the number of patients diagnosed with this disease during 1935 was just 1 out of 1500, but in the 2nd millennium there are 1 having malignant melanoma out of 75 individuals who are born.  PDR said that this can arise from an individual’s mole or even from the normal skin. This disease features the appearance of “odd-shaped lesions, with irregular shape or color…,”as stated by PDR. They added that lesions grow on the surface of the skin gradually, but will eventually spread throughout the body if treatment is not eagerly applied. They warned that it can even penetrate inner organs such as lymph nodes, and having the bloodstream as a channel it could also pervade in liver, lungs, heart and brain.

Mark Carter (2014), 56 years old, shared his life’s story having experienced malignant melanoma. He stated that he was first diagnosed with malignant melanoma 15.5 years ago after his doctor found out that, after removing the irregularly-shaped mole on the upper side of his left chest that sprouted. Being aware of his condition he constantly had his annual check up. The early results of his exams indicated that the only part of his body affected was his armpit region, unfortunately, in year 2013, tests found that his melanoma is already in stage 4, his lungs were affected by the cancer. He’s currently under his long term treatment, fighting to survive and willing to raise awareness about the danger of sunbeds(used for tanning skin), an equipment that triggers melanoma.

Fourth, is the instance of cortical cataract. According to Mayo Clinic (2013), cortical cataract affects the lens. It narrated that in the beginning, a “whitish opacity” emerges on the edge of the lens. It added that, as time passes this whitish substance spreads to the center of the lens, blocking the light. As a result it stated that “ People who have cortical cataracts often experience problems with glare.”  Still, individuals who have light-colored irises are more prone to cataract compared to those who have darker eye colors.
 Source:http://englishrowseyecare.com/services/ocular-disease/

Lastly, American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO, 2013) stated that temporary blindness or photokeratitis is also caused by overexposure to UV rays. They said that the eyes here are “sunburnt.” They regarded individuals who expose their bare eyes in Sun’s malignant radiation for wide range of time plus they have a light-colored eyes are at risk of suffering this so called temporary blindness. Another factor that contributed to the occurrence of photokeratitis was recently found by AAO: low awareness of people about the factors that make people’s eyes vulnerable to sun damage.

AAO wrote that people who suffer photokeratitis feel like there’s a sand on their eyes. That feeling, according to them, is caused by the peeling of cornea due to sunburn. They said that that results from years that the eyes are exposed under the sun without any protection. They warned that this disease must be treated early because this can lead to tumor and when tumor emerges “surgical removal” will be necessary.

Basal and squamous cell carcinomas, malignant melanoma, cortical cataract, and photokeratitis are just part of the sample of diseases that exposure in UV rays can bring. There are still a lot of diseases that may have been caused by the harsh kisses of the Sun that may have not yet been studied, discovered, or even imagined. Some sort of diseases associated with the global cavity will furthermore emerge if humans will continuously spray the tear gas compound that will kill themselves. Ozone depletion will serve as a catalyst of human death by radiating various diseases unimagined. The ozone hole that emerged if not wholly hauled out of existence will wreck the whole planet.

Source:http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-images-ozone-layer-protects-life-fatal-radiation-image31599624

Still, the status quo of ozone hole, as revealed by British Antarctic Ozone Bulletin (2013), is worth celebrating. Indeed, this was a very good news that may inspire the world to continuously help fight against the elements that deplete the ozone. Based on the press release of United Nations Environmental programme(2014),this garnered effect was attributed by UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner to Montreal Protocol, a treaty that fought and continuously fight against ozone depletion by diminishing if not totally eradicating the production of global cavity’s culprit –chlorofluorocarbon (CFC).

A kiss is only desirable if the receiver feels secured and loved, but the undesirable one results to receiver’s disgust. The Earth and its inhabitants are feeling harassed by Sun’s UVs and will continuously be harassed if the inhabitants will not unceasingly combat the intervention of the harsh kisses. A true inhabitant of planet Earth is the one who cares for her like his/her treasured mother. Whoever who does not care may be an alien whose mission is to wreck humanity. However, he must not be thrown back to outer space, rather, he must be nurtured and transformed in order to act like a real human.

Gradually, environmental problems will be solved. The successful steps taken by the world headed by Montreal Protocol is an indication that global cooperation in actions destined to help Mother Earth recover, live longer and sustain, makes the desired ends not far from reality. Truly, noticing the presence of a cavity and treating or filling it before it's totally rotten helped. The global cavity is gradually pushed through recovery before it’s too late. Now that the ozone is gradually recovering may all the inhabitants of the Earth brush away all the dire activities that destroys mother Earth and never ever forget to brush and brush and brush. Maintenance is important to avoid short-lived gratification. The old humanity may never forget that there’s no denture that can be used when the global cavity gets worse. The only way to protect the ozone layer and humanity is through cooperation against CFC candies. Together, humans can make a change, humans can redress the planet. A renewed planet will be an eternal legacy for future generations that may hopefully not fail to sustain the bounty that they might enjoy.
